FAQ

What kind of photographer are you?

By trade I am a lifestyle family photographer. I also love shooting in a documentary style when applicable. But to truly answer this question I am the type of photographer who will do ANYTHING to get you and your family to have an amazing client experience. I will play games with your kids, I will make silly noises, and I will help you feel beautiful in front of the camera, even on your hardest day as a mama. I've been known to bring little surprises for the children to help them stay occupied and happy so that you won't have to worry about their smiles! As a mom of toddlers myself, I know all about wiggly kids and how to keep them engaged in sessions and keep everyone laughing (even dad!)

As my business has grown I have expanded my services to be Moore County's trusted photographer for advertisements, headshots, portraits, and branding photoshoots. I own a photography studio in the heart of the Sandhills in NC but travel all around to capture on location as needed!

Where will our session be held?

Mini sessions are typically offered in a predetermined location by myself in the Southern Pines, Pinehurst, and Whispering Pines area. Full sessions can be at a location of your choosing or at the comfort of your own home. I also offer sessions of various types (including professional headshots and branding sessions) in my new studio space on Midland Road in Pinehurst, NC!

How long will my session be?

Family Sessions last about 1 hour and include lots of games and family snuggling to tell your family story. Newborn sessions typically last 1.5-2 hours to allow for time to feed and comfort baby as needed. Newborn sessions are completely baby-led so I will stick around for as long as needed to get all the images you need! Portrait sessions in my studio range from 10 minutes-30 minutes depending on the session type!

How do I order prints and products for you?

You will receive a viewing gallery of your images 7-10 days after your session and within this gallery you may download all your images as well as order prints. You may order them through my easy gallery system (with the coupon I provide) OR you may take them to the print lab of your choice. I do not recommend printing at quick-print places such as Walgreens. These types of labs do not have printers capable of printing professional photography accurately. You will notice these labs will turn your skin tones yellow and green! I am happy to discuss labs I do recommend!

How can I get the most out of my photo session?

As a mom I know how stressful traditional family photo day can be! Between trying to get everyone dressed, fed, out the door and then smile, its enough to make anyone not look forward to the ordeal! I strive to take away ALL of these stressors! I will provide a style guide for you and assist in helping you choose color schemes for your family. I will encourage you to send me a text with pictures of your clothing so I can offer my expertise. We will schedule photos at a time that works best for your family, while also making sure we capture dreamy light. We will make sure your kids take "smile breaks" and I will bring special surprises to keep the motivated and occupied! Most importantly, my style of photography isn't forced. While I will be sure to get a few posed shots, I really seek to capture your family as they are in this stage of your lives. If you toddler is busy running around, I will be chasing him and interacting with him to get genuine, wonderful smiles. Relax and let me use my experience and expertise to capture your moments!

Will you edit out certain things as a request?

While I edit for color correction and artistic style, I typically do not edit teeth, hair, or slim body parts. I am experienced in photographing and posing family members in the angles and positions that are most flattering to help you feel absolutely beautiful in your photos. Additional photoshop requests outside of my original editing does require a photoshop fee.

When should I schedule my newborn session?

I'd recommend reaching out in your second trimester to reserve your due date on my calendar. Upon delivery, you will reach out once more to get the final date and time for your shoot! I can only accept a small number of newborns a month due to the unpredictability of birth days....so I recommend snagging your date in advance!
